Dilute phase conveying uses high-velocity, low-pressure air streams to suspend and move powders. This method is ideal for non-abrasive materials over short distances. Dense phase conveying uses high-pressure, low-velocity air, pushing material in plugs. It is better for handling abrasive, fragile, or heavy products, reducing pipe wear and product degradation.
Roots blowers are positive displacement machines. They deliver a constant volume of air even when pipeline pressure fluctuates due to variable material loading. Centrifugal blowers experience significant drops in air volume when pressure rises, which can lead to material settling and pipe blockages in powder transport systems.
